In the second phase of this project, we will investigate two major goals. Our first focus is on searching for possible solutions to make progressive mesh transmissions robust against partial information loss.
Our second focus will be on generalizing hierarchical concepts to 3D animations (in fact, 4D data-sets). Just like 3D geometry increases the information density in a digital document compared to classical picture illustrations, the same argument applies to animated 3D geometry versus static geometry.
After having developed efficient algorithms for the integration of static geometry data in digital documents in the first phase of the project, we will now concentrate on dynamic models.
